We love scarves! But it’s so hard to tie them with perfect panache! How do you do it?
There are so many ways – depending on length, thickness of fabric, and purpose of scarf. Right now I like them tied snugly around the neck. Loop the scarf around the neck and then tie the ends like a knot. You can also fold the scarf in half, loop it around the neck, and pull the ends through the other side.
Can the scarf tying approach you choose say something about your personal style?
Yes! For “chic and casual,” hang the scarf around your neck, both sides even, then throw both sides over opposite shoulders leaving the ends to hang in the back. Or go bohemian – wrap a scarf as many times as possible around your neck, tucking the end under so that it doesn’t show.
What do scarves look fabulous with?
Scarves can complement any look – from classy to grunge-cool. Look for different patterns, textures, colors. Anybody can benefit from this style investment. They look great with dresses, can be used instead of a jacket, and also really complete and elevate denim.
Sir Alistair Rai, Love Quotes and Tolani scarves are on the site – how are these scarves to work with?
We love the lightness of all of these scarves! They are so soft and beautiful. Because of how wide they are, you can wear them in the winter, but they are equally comfortable and suitable for every season – even the summer. The thing I like the most about these scarves is their size. They create the perfect scrunchy loop around your neck because they are so wide, and can be tied so many different ways because of how long they are.
What’s the absolute scarf must-have?
If you only have warmer, winter scarves, branch out and buy a few scarves in the style of Sir Alistair Rai’s where you can wear it as an accessory year-round.

I sometimes also wear two scarves at the same time. It’s a great way of creating more volume and playing with different colors! And I am all for scarves as poochie accessories, too! Just make sure the scarf is safely wrapped around your pup’s neck so no harm will come to him!
